Ready To Cook: Cook up a Stir Fry or Make a Ramen in minutes

The most daunting task about cooking is, perhaps, not the cooking itself, but shopping for recipe ingredients. Then slicing and chopping and getting them ready. And if you’re not cooking an everyday dish, then you hesitate to buy the exotic ingredients that you may not use again for some time.

In the UK, my wife and I discovered a most convenient way to stir up a Ramen or Stir Fry meal in minutes with the essential components available in a “Ready To Cook” mix-and-match combination. Here is an example from Waitrose, an upscale Supermarket. Similar options are available in other Supermarkets like Tesco, Sainsbury’s, and M&S Foods as well.

Stir Fry Ready To Cook

You can pick up your choice of protein, veggies, rice or noodles, and sauce.

Protein options at Waitrose were Tofu, King Prawns, Turkey breast strips, Pork strips, and chicken strips. We picked up Turkey breast strips

Stir Fry Veg options were crunchy vegetables, bright and colorful veggies, super bright stir fry, water chestnut and bamboo shoots, sprouts, and mushrooms. We picked up bright and colorful.

Noodle Choices: Singapore Rice Noodles, Rice Noodles, Lentil Protein Noodles, Egg Noodles. Rice Choices: Brown Rice and Quinoa options.

Sauce options: Sweet Cherry Hoisin, Firecracker, Pad Thai, and Korean Style BBQ Sauce. Or if you want to cook up Ramen, you can choose from Chicken Broth or Classic Broth. So here you need to choose whether you’re in the mood of Stir Fry or Ramen

What we cooked: We made a Stir Fry with Turkey breast, Quinoa Rice, Bright and Colorful veggies and Pad Thai sauce.

It was a very wholesome balanced stir fry. It was crunchy, with a salty and sweet sauce. Worth the effort
